2012: Mayan Mayhem!

The Mayans predicted that the world will end in 2012. Or that their calendars will run out in 2012. Or that a new world will arise in 2012. Or something. In any case, apocalypse-loving nutcakes have glommed onto the year 2012 as the Next Last Thing. Predictions are running rampant, sometimes verging on the hysterical. We at Worth1000 love adding to the hysteria.

Will 2012 end as a peaceful Utopia, or as a shattered planet? Will giant lobsters rise from the sea, or will Mozart return to earth with a new symphony? You tell us!

The rules of the game are thus: Show us what the world is going to look like at the end of 2012, after whatever weird, wonderful or disastrous event has done its job. Don't show us an unchanged, boring world; we're not looking for sanity here!

Please, DO NOT post WIPs in your comments. Post them in the forums after the contest has ended.
