Historical facts. They're fun, aren't they? General Custer lost the battle at Wounded Knee. The attack on Pearl Harbor was completely unexpected. Sure, you'll win lots of games of Trivial Pursuit with your fancy historical facts. But isn't it even more amusing to make stuff up?

In this contest, we'd like you to show us some historical "facts" taken right out of an alternate history book. You do know that Pikup Andropov was the first man to walk on the moon, right? Gauguin actually went to Coney Island to paint, he thought Tahiti was a hotel there. And Barry Manilow paved the way for the metal rock bands of today, he's revered as a metal-rock god.
