Tales from the Gingerbread House

"Welcome, my dears. Haven't you a sweet tooth? You must stay for dinner..."

But the old woman was really a Wicked Witch who only pretended to be kind. She had built her house of candy merely to trick unwary children. When one fell into her power, she would feed the child on sugary foods until it grew fat. Then she would kill it, cook it and eat it; for she too had a sweet tooth.
